It was about 12 months ago that we bought our first cruiser Now&Zen, an Adams 40 from South Australia.
Since moving onboard in March we have sailed from SA up to Magnetic Island and clocked up almost 3800Nm.
We are now making our way back south. Today we are anchored off Brampton Island.
We have always been keen campers, so living aboard has been a fairly easy thing to adapt to and having a great ocean view out of every window is definitely something to be admired!
We are from WA and sailing in the unfamiliar waters of the east coast has been a steep learning curve - a couple of the bar crossings in NSW caused a bit of consternation and a soothing red once anchored sorted it all out!
Anyhow, I just wanted to put my thoughts into cyber print and encourage anyone else who is contemplating taking up a lifestyle like this. Don't procrastinate any longer - go for it, it is an awesome experience.
Good on you!
We tried to do that this year but it did'nt eventuate. Your thoughts have inspired me again.
This is on my list of "things to do " when i can afford to ! ..... I think it may be a way off yet !!
Nicely done nowandzen !
Keep up the good non-work !
Congratulations on achieving your objectives.
I see you are anchored off Brampton Island. What about Keswick Island just a little further south? Have you spent any time there?
Keswick looks like a great place to build a house and use as a base for cruising the Whitsundays. Do you think that is feasible - or do you know anyone doing it?
