hey guys just got into 29ers i sail out of MBSC we got a competive fleet happening now, they are the sickest boats ever so encourage every1 to get into them (heaps better than 420's)for more info just check out www.29er.com.au or www.29er.org
id go 29ers,ye cherubs are the coolest boats on reaches, but when it come to close racing, fleets and UPWIND speed, 29ers have it all over them
i liken them to bow kites, they are grandpa boats lol. much more exhilarating on a short stumpy cherub thats digging it's nose in everywhere.
i guess i'ts better than sailing a 420 so i forgive you all hehe.
how many are there in WA now? i saw 4 out at the schools on matilda bay few hours ago. many more?
If you want to sail around on a floppy glass boat with a 40 year old hull and rig design then good for you. 420's are also good if you're a bit scared of going fast.
hahahaha couldn't have said it better myself, don't understand the attraction.
on another note there are f/a cherubs for sale ![]()
Why dont you build one Hosko. You cant do that with 29er. Theres plenty of info on the web and I'm sure someone from your club could help you out. Would end up being reasonably cheap too.
good idea but i'd need the matthews hull mould etc etc and i'm not a boat builders bootlace. have only done smallish repairs to hulls etc.
Come on now, dont go getting all serious on me I was only taking the piss. You should sail skiffs though ,they are way more fun.
what 14?
i've been at pdsc since i was 8 up until a couple of yrs ago so chances are i know the boat. who do you sail with?
Dynahmoe-Humm. The red one. I only sailed one race last season so you may not have seen it down there. We'll have a brand spanker for next season. You should get into 14s Hosko, plenty of cheap ones around (and expensive ones for that matter)
yep i remember that one.
i have considered it but am a bit on the light side weighing in at only 72kg. will get into them in the next few yrs though, thats the plan.
