hello fellow yachtys im a newby yatch owner with virtually no experience but heaps of passion for wind driven craft being an old surfer , windsurfer ,kitesurfer , occasional catsailer with a couple of years spent on fishing boats in west oz ive now jumped in the deep end and bought a big steely and im looking for the cheapest slip hardstand facility on the east coast with the facility 2 abrasive blast cause i want 2 give her a major facelift but being a bit on the large side im having trouble finding this elusive place , oyster cove marine is the best ive found so far but unfortunately i draw 2 much to get in there so im putting it outthere for any suggestions would be muchly apprieciated,, cheers !!

Welcome to the forum. Add a few details to your bio when you get a chance, may find your in close proximity to another forum member.

I think you may have to consider a port with facilities to handle commercial fishing boats or an area that your vessel can be craned on to hard standing. The problem these days with some slips is that sand blasting is no longer allowed, certainly not at my local council run slips where spray painting even is not allowed.

thanks for the tips ramona im a bit of a dino on the keyboard , and i will sus out the whole east coast for the most affordable preferably up north ,the cold plays havock with the arthritus also looking for any books worth reading on the subject of blue water sailing ,suggestions welcome ive got alot to learn! ps thanks salty 1 ill check Mackey
