check out the video it was quite um? Comical Should I say?
Actually, there's so much of this I don't understand. I do understand one thing though - why I don't drink when skippering (whilst I'm still on my P's).
Does he lose his car licence?
Good question!
i would look at sueing the Media for such a name and shame job!
I also would not completely blame the drink on the cirumstance as this could happen to any inexperenced sailor. A rope around the prop can be common when Sh#t hits the fan.
My guess is he got hit by a gust was forced to tack , stalled due to inexpernced jib hand. And was then forced onto the rocks. Most probely tried to start the engine but failed.
No doubt a story for his kids when they grow up.......haha
Drunk! In charge of a sailing vessel! Surrounded by pretty women! Out at night in a 30 knot southerly! Im in love with this guy!!! Seabreeze sailing forum needs him as a regular contributor to jazz things up a bit.... Whats his name again......Im gonna twitter him and get him on the forum!!!!

This was sunday. i was out sunday. couldnt even sail around there. no wind, nada. sounds like he ran out of fuel... i carry a paddle board paddle with me as a "back up" motor...works ok on the 22 footer. actually reading back, this was at 7.30pm when the southerly gusts came. they were pretty brutal actually and i was inland beer in hand waiting for the GF to start.
No wind, no fuel , just cold beer and buetiful women! A recpie for distruction! And bad luck the media was driving round looking for a story to cover

go hang time make it happen
At least he put some fenders out or never bothered bringing them in.
I don't drink when I'm mastering and now don't let people get overly drunk after a near mob. However after a long leg and I'm at a safe harbour I crack a spiced rum with some lime, dry ginger ale if I got it. I won't drink on anchor because I want to be alert incase I drag.
He could hardly have picked a more public place to have a cock up. Maybe his cock was up one of the pretty ladies and some one less competent or coherent than he was steering.
However at 0.169% blood alcohol level, vision and perception is usually blurred (I speak from experience.) and most females will look pretty affable or effable. ![]()
He went on the rocks and I hope he got his rocks off at the same time and the earth moved for him.(Apparently not)
Everything comes at a price and he is surely paying it now. No doubt he will lose his automobile licence as well.
Looks like it was a Compass 29 which are not renowned for pointing ability. If it was blowing 30 knots straight through the heads, he had a problem.
If one of the million little wrigglers reached it's target, he may have another problem.
I bet the cockroach in the cabin has a story to tell. ![]()

so many people leave their fenders on in syd harbour. god knows why.
After having a few reds while tidying up my boat at the marina, I nearly stepped straight off the walkway on my way back....... made me think twice about about having one too many!
