Hi
I'm an artist as well as a sailor and belong to a portrait painting group. This is my entry for the groups exhibition this year.I am a professional portrait artist and this is the first painting I've created for myself for a year! too busy painting pets , horses and other people..

Homeward Bound
46 x 60cms
oil on gallery wrap canvas
Brian in the painting has sailed around Australia and just went around the Horn. He helped us sail our 'new' boat back from Pittwater and I created this painting from about 7 different photos. You can read how it was done at my Blog-

We need a painting done to put on our bulkhead and my partner said when he saw Brian's portrait - you should do one of me! I was going to wait until we have a good action sailing shot of the boat and then do a painting of that for the bulkhead..

that's magic, great job with his eyes especially.
I'm feeling the salt in them.

Thanks Crusty! I wanted to get that weatherworn voyaging feel to it.

OUTSTANDING,
That's one awesome talent.
It would be nice to do anything that well.
