Hi,

the Balmar 100 amp alternator on my boat has suddenly stopped delivering any charge. Can anyone recommend a mechanic in the Queenscliff/Melbourne region?

thanks in advance.

Id take it to a auto elec rather than a mechanic its more there feild . Plus they can bench test it

Thanks HG02. Scuze my ignorance, why do I need to disconnect the battery first?

no need to answer - I found out, thankfully not by trial and error.

Bit late to add my bit, but does the balmar have an external regulator or internal regulator? It may be the problem and the auto sparky may need it if any testing is to be done.
