Just received the latest newsletter from MAST (Marine and Safety Tasmania) and they had a article saying that from 2020 life jackets marked with Aust Standard 1512, 1499 and 2260 will no longer be legal to use
Had a look at my 2009 Stormy Jacket and it is a 1512 so it looks like i will be up for a new one
Doesn't really bother me because my old one is about a size too large and doesn't have crotch straps, a internal harness or an auto inflate mechanism and is looking a bit ratty as i wear it all the time when i am sailing, as Tassie it is normally cool enough to be comfortable in the jacket without the sleeves on
Looking at replacing it with one of these www.stormylifejackets.com.au/product/stormy-life-jacket-with-harness-150n/ unless anyone can suggest a alternative 
Possibly might be able to save $100 and buy the vest version instead www.stormylifejackets.com.au/product/stormy-life-vest-with-harness-150n/ and use my existing sleeves as they are in good condition as i normally zip them off unless it is freezing or raining but not sure if they will zip onto the smaller size jacket
Tempted to but the offshore version https://www.stormylifejackets.com.au/product/stormy-offshore-life-jacket-harness-fleece-liner/ with the additional floatation as i am 110kg and the spray hood when deployed but it looks like the sleeves are not removable on this on and the extra length might be a bit of a pain 
The other thing that i found is that my water operated strobe light www.stormylifejackets.com.au/product/water-activated-strobe-light-2/ works when i push the test button but doesn't work when i wet it so if you have on of them it might be worth checking it with water even if it works when the test button is pressed

I had a stormy vest too from about that era, and loved it.
It was serviced, and warn everytime I was on the boat, but the inner waterproof lining ended up peeling off, making the jacket pretty much useless as far as weather protection goes.
Current Spinlock deckvest is pretty good, and gives you more clothing options that the stormy vest.
After ten years of hard use the liner peeled of mine but spoke to stormy, there supplied a new shell with all the safety stuff tested and recertified for another ten years.
a very reasonable fee a lot less than resupply.
hope their service is still that good.
musto leaked a lot quicker than that and not likely to get a replacement there at any price
I think you should reconsider and even STOP suggesting to buy that rubbish on eBay.
One should keep in mind the less experienced people and visitors on this forum, they may go out and buy those utter craps as life saving devices just because they are cheap and because 'it has been recommended on Seabreeze!'

I reckon if i had a seperate yoke and jacket i probably would stick the jacket on but not wear the yoke all the time so the combo is probably the best choice for me
