So I sold my Etchells and brought a Sabre!!!
Have a 1yo boy and not alot of time to race the big boat, getting sick of having a dirty bum when I can race as time constraints mean it didn't get the maintenance she deserved.
So a $1200 timber Sabre it is!!
Already have a trailer it fits on, as we travel to Hobart a bit to see family so can tow it down and race when I'm down there.
Also will keep me a bit fitter than the big boat did!!!
Thats great. I have an old sabre and its great fun. Now that my kid is a teenager he can also sail it and take his friends out. I am thinking of selling the TS and focusing on Sabres. But a racing one is quite dear.

Congrats on the downgrade. I like to point out to people it's not how big it is but how often you get it out....... Sailing...... sailing I meant!!

Not really, I have got one for $1200 in racing condition!!!
Might be a timber one and I'm not about to win the nationals in it but I won't be back of the fleet either!!
Rumblefish, ... probably the reason I have got my first A class cat back, I can sail by myself if I want and not have the issues of crew all the time.
Fun boat to sail but she always reminds me how unfit I have become. .... but would not sell the "big toy" tho' just nice to sail the A now and again.
