Just a heads-up to Brisbane-based sailors who have a dog on board. Together with a couple of other boats, we spent last Saturday evening at Deanbilla beach, near Dunwich, North Stradbroke Island. It's a popular anchorage in SE weather. Late Saturday afternoon, some young girls from our group, having taken the tender to the beach for a walk, were unfortunate enough to witness a small dog being brutally attacked and killed by larger dogs. The next morning, when I took our dog ashore for a run along the beach, I believe there was almost a repeat performance. Two large dogs came rushing towards us. Luckily I was able to pick up my dog before they arrived, and beat a hasty retreat to the dinghy. From the body language I have no doubt their intentions were not honourable.

So - be careful!

Is that reportable, in terms of dangerous dogs?

Sure is. dogs are obviously dangerous and unleashed in a public area and already killed another dog. In NSW those dogs would have already been rounded up and put down.
