boats moored in Callala Bay. Doesn't look good for next Monday.

Yep. ESE 35kts would be untidy in Callala Bay.

35 knots is only moderate for our area in Autumn/winter. Also when the wind is in the Westerly sector. SW to NW, you have to add 10 knots to the official forecast in the Shoalhaven area. Where your yacht is moored it is still fairly sheltered.

Hopefully your mooring shackles are secured different to that Bavaria.

That peak travelling up from the south south west on the 500mb charts was a tell tale sign of something brewing.
Water temperature and humidity levels are all favourable for a development of a nasty.
It won't abate either, it'll travel via the Tasman and linger around NZ west coast till following Wednesday.
