I would try to avoid them but not a deal breaker. They have the advantage of easy installation and probably quieter and smoother operation. Downside is the alloy castings add another metal to the mix. Anodes costly and the unit has to have hard antifouling so if you use ablative the drive area has to have a different antifoul. Boats that are slipped regularly no problem.
