Hi
Does anyone know a cheapish slip somewhere up the Parramatta river where you could get your boat hauled out and spend a few days cleaning up the saildrive yourself.
Thanks.

I would suggest that ''cheap slipping'' anywhere on Sydney Harbour is an oxymoron. Presidents Shipwrights at Drummoyne provide a weekend DIY service, but I don't know what they charge

If you want cheap slipping for a few days you'll probably have to go to Newcastle.

Theres a guy with a slip next to Greenwich baths. He charges about 600 for antifouling. That quote was for my 22 footer. He doesnt let you do any work though which is why im goingvyo Noakes. Noakes sounds great. Can work any day no restrictions. Why not put your boat up in a 190 per day hotel!

That's David Dee. The slipway is operated, or was operated, by the BOA and it was closed by Lane Cove Council a year or two ago for lack of engineering compliance, lease's end and after Donald France who managed it passed. As of late last year the BOA was in discussions to re-open it although have not heard much since this newsletter in Dec...

River Quays Marina at Mortlake was reasonably priced for slipping and doing your own work but it's closed too now.

Pittwater?

I just realised. Mate you should give that guy in Greenwich a call. He will haul your boat out for cheap im sure if youre not painting and sanding.

Quays at Bayview is good and the only place i know of that will let you work on the boat yourself in pittwater. youre restricted to a weekend though which means rush rush.
I was weighing it up recently with Noakes vs Quays as i was keen to go back to Quays, but Noakes sounds great. They were nice and accomodating over the phone anyway.
Its also only 5 min walk from my place so its perfect.
I think they quoted about 800 for haul in out and bum wash. you gotta supply all your own gear, paint etc after that.

I spoke with that guy with the slip a little before december. Was sounding dodgy. He said he had to sand at night or something. NA for me as i want to do the work myself anyway. I like it.
Next yard for me is def Noakes. They aint that much moire expensive than Bayview and Botany Bay where i also got a quote. Its also well established, big and youre not restricted to when you can work. I hate restrictions.

Hi Keensailor

Here in Tassie a lot of yacht clubs have their own slipway that members can use

Do the clubs in Sydney do this and have you looked at that as a option

Regards Don
