Have a pumpout loo and am after info on environmentally friendly chemicals to clean the bowl etc with. Need something that is not going to harm the rubber plumbing bits etc.

Don't go to Whitworths, go to woollies or Coles, white vinegar @ $1 per litre, use about a cupfull with a tablespoon of vegetable oil. We live aboard, and head is always clean and never fails us!

Seatrek is correct for cleaning marine toilets. Vinegar cleans and removes smell, vegetable oil to keep valves in good condition.

Thanks all for the advice.....yeah elbow grease is a prerequisite ! The vinegar and cooking oil sounds good to me. How often do you wack in the vinegar? Guessing it depends on the smell level.
