This might be a bit of a weird one....I apologize in advance.

Anyone read any copies of "coastal passage" this or last year?

What's the story with the bloke being poisoned by the mysterious nasties?

I can't stop reading it....but...what? ......huh?.....what the f....?

Yeah brizzy,
I've been reading it too for about a year - getting curiouser & curiouser.....
Can't tell what's happening from the latest issue.
Anyone know?.....

I've been following it for a while and like most others I suspect that we are all in the dark as this bloke won't come clean on anything.

Who's trying to kill him? and why?
What toxic chemicals and poisons?
Who are the agents and from what agency that contaminated his car in NZ with what poison?

Remember, it's not paranoia if they really are watching you.

I do like the cruising stories that people send in......of hidden sandy inlets and travels "up the reef" etc. The poisoning action just makes my bum numb page after page as I sit on the loo contemplating masked operatives in camoflage opening canisters of gas in the long grass up wind Clive Cussler style. Nothing that exciting happens to me......

I'm with you Dave, I too like reading those stories, some real gems in there. Oooooh Clive Cussler, I loike him, a lot.

Maybe Bob's been reading too many Clive Cussler books .... or sniffing the thinners .. or the glue, whatever, it's becoming tiresome.

Haven't read Coastal Passage for a lonnnnggg time.

BUT, of course Customs would be responsible for whatever has happened to this bloke, wouldn't they???? They blame the weather, planetary alignments, food poisoning, gear breakages on Customs!!!!!
I just got sick of the relentless (a) attacks on Customs and; (b) whinging tone to many of the articles. It's like there's a total sub-culture of the cruising community that have nothing good to say. I call them the Knitting Circle.

I mean...really...best lifestyle in the world and they're whinging!!!! I'm thinking of sending a truckload of those xenophobic stickers I see on cars to the editor..."If you don't love it, leave it!!!".

The mag really morphed into a medium for Customs-bashing and conspiracy theories.

Personally, I took umbridge to their attacks. I haven't worked as a Customs Officer for nearly 10 years but my ex-husband is still in the job, so I still hear the goss. My 15 years included 3 years as smallcraft officer in Gladstone, relieving in Bundaberg and being seconded to National Parks. I did countless marine patrols aboard Customs vessels and Coastwatch aircraft.

Maybe times have changed...yes, the marine unit people do carry pieces now , but my colleagues and I back then were never guilty of the sins The Coastal Passage accuse us of.

Not a mag that I go anywhere near I'm afraid....but happy reading to all those who do.

Happy Saturday all.....I'm going sailing

+++++ what you said!!!

It is a forum for whingers. A shame really, because it's a great idea and if it didn't have the weird focus it would be a good read. I think the resin fumes have probably pushed Bob over the edge.

If that happened (and I don't understand why customs would get involved in a home build boat) then do we now assume that he has started building another one? In the current edition is a blog of his building progress, The bloke really needs to get himself to a shrink
