Condolences to mal lennon family and the delivery crew of Amante
I dont know you or the boat , we may have crossed paths in a bar at some regatta.
As a fellow middle aged delivery crew member helping out in deliveries it hits home what happened and how sometimes we dont realise the dangers that can happen.
Yes we think we sail safe ,it only takes a second for disaster
You would have thought it would be safe in the cockpit behind the wheel.
I can just imagine how the rest of the crew feel ,bunch of mates volunteering ,probably had a good time in doing the race ,yep we'll give you a hand sailing Amanta home its just a couple of nights.

Well said. You would need a decent sea to dislodge the helmsmen. What sort of boat is it?
I just read that Maritime Rescue NSW is only half guaranteed government funded. I just put in a $50 donation via PayPal for these guys that risked their lives to save others. This is a truly tragic event and along with all the sailing community, my deepest sympathies for the families and those close to them.
Please let's help those who volunteer to support and go out there risking their lives to save others. There must always be something good to come from deep sadness!
