Ive raced my cruizing cat a few times over the last 6 months and found myself learning a heap of new tricks like......... Tacking! Yes tacking - something i never do as a cruiser.
My boat is not set up for fast tacks but ive got it down Pat and can change direction in a nanosecond and i really enjoy it!
Found an 11meter grainger racing cat sitting in a paddockand made an offer to the owner which was rejected. This was sad but im on the hunt for a fast cat-handyman special.
The plan is to own a FFFAAASSSTTT cat for fun and racing and fun and fun and keep my cruizing cat for.... fun!
Can someone please talk some sense into me?
Yeh!! Forget gettin' a cat and get yourself a Farrier trimaran.
Unfortunately they are that good it is hard to find one for sale at all, let alone at a bargain price.![]()
Just keep clear on the start line & let us monos romp upwind.
And retire before the downwind leg.
But keep racing ![]()
Poods ![]()
Sorry Poodle but ive been matching the mono's upwind!, Yes them multi things do go upwind.
Also been lucky enough to get a ride on Akimbo (32ft racing tri) on a few occasions. The objective on that boat is not to just win but to lap the fleet!
Yep a cheap tri would be nice, Anyone know of one?
geeze, don't you guys check the buy and sell!![]()
Maybe my Manta was not as fast as you need, but it's been loved, and in good nick for age. At least less than 1/3 the price of a current Farrier, or much less ply than an old Trailer Tri.
Why not pimp it out, with bigger rig, massive prodder, and still have plenty $$ left.
I'll supply some fluffy dice.
