Well, on december 2008 lynger1 came out for detailing. and the bottom was clean.
This was a remarkable improvement
I am now looking forward spending moretime on other things than antyfouling
By what I see now, I can certainly recommend it to others.

How much power does it take? ie how do you supply power to it?

This looks really good and if it works will really piss off the paint manufacturers.
So you are saying that it has worked on your boat which looks like it is a Red Witch or Red Jacket or is it a Red Back??, which is about 20-25ft long, so I would assume you fitted the MS10-9M unit.
At $2,800 it seems like a lot of money to pay for what is pictured on their web page. The web page, in not terribly good English says, that the product has a 2 year warranty.
I guess that regular slipping and antifouling of my hull every 6 months (you can't buy antifouling paint with a good percentage of tin in it anymore) over a two year period would cost me $2,800.
If the unit fails after 2 years, I am back where I started and no better off financially. The price seems like a lot to pay for an ultrasonic transmitter.
I do not know much about electronics, but maybe if one of these units could be measured for what frequency signal it puts out, one might be able to go to Dick Smith's and buy the components and put one together for a few hundred dollars.
The concept sounds feasible enough to work but the price seems a little over the top. I would wear $1,000 or $1,500 and as we all know, boat owners are notorious overspenders on their foolhardy toys, me included.

Of all the people I've spoken to about these, none of them has a good word to say, because no one is prepared to put the money down, AND have to antifoul again if it doesn't work.
Lynger, you also don't mention whether you're affiliated with this company, some sort of disclaimer might help.
A company I used to work for tried to sell a similar thing to ward off cockroaches from your house. I had a photo stored for a long time showing cockroaches living inside the unit....
More proof and positive un-biased success stories might help sell it, but that website does nothing for it at all, sorry.

I was looking at putting one on my yacht and the price I was quoted was about $4,000. But I also intend to do antifouling as well. Why both. The current drawn by the device is about 60W. Doesn't sound like much on you house hold light bill or if you are plugged into a marina but when you are a cruiser, that's about 5 amps an hour (at 12 V) or 120 amps a day. Where do I find that sort of power when I chasing down coral trout at Clack reef off Princess Charlotte bay. That sort of power could be keeping the beer cold. But if you have seen the crap that grows on the bottom of boats in some marinas (ever been to Mackay) in a very short time it think is probably a good thing to have when the power is available. Glad to hear you can get them cheaper than what I was quoted.
Marine Sonic have an ad on Ebay at the moment. The $4000 version, 2 transducers has a maximum draw on 12 volts of 40 watts which is just over 3 amps.
I would be more inclined to just buy the plumbers bits and the junction box, just install these, don't bother wiring them up, the effect will be the same.
Souds pretty good. Let me say this. I did repair and build a few similar electr. gadgets. Just went through "fundamentals and manual ASM" /pdf's/. Anyone can leave depth sounder runnig for a months and than we discuss a result. I think we get very close. The one with wide beam will be better.
