yes raised boom to prevent knock out - on your own that's a bit risky! Also depowers the rig with lower CofG - peak is lower as well.
Oars are much more effective that the usual paddle - made them 7 feet long each - works well with the sliding seat and packs away neat in two pieces.
It's a GRP hull (standard Solo) - I added the bowsprit - roller furlers on both jibs - I can tack them and reel them in with one hand from steering position (see control box on top of centerboard in one of the pics).
It took a lot of time to get all the positionings right but very pleased with the outcome. Lots of ideas and inspiration from Margaret Dye's book 'Dingy Cruising'.
