Just a mention of an idea someone may find useful.
Have just bought two chrome plated zinc, appropriately shaped drawer handles to use as coach roof mounted fair leads for the lines coming back to the cockpit from the mast. Drill out and tap for a more substantial thread and they do a great job and look good. Beats two holes per line, and a kink in the line doesn't jam as it would at a single line fair lead. Not traditional but my other ones have worked for 20 years. If the lines are going over the top of a slope, a shaped, bent, polished piece of stainless is fitted first as a low friction surface. The handle keeps the lines on the stainless.

What a great idea.

I wish you had posted this a month earlier, I have spent a small fortune on "dead eyes" from Whitworths while setting up my running rigging :(

I might be able to use this in the future tho.
