My boat is on a private waterways mooring and I have a commercial mooring beside me. I've had my mooring for maybe 15 years with the same boat on it and my mooring gets serviced by a diver so the block has never moved. I've noticed the commercial mooring is getting bigger and bigger boats on it to the stage where this morning, in a light westerly, it looked like my boat the the one beside might have touched sterns (I haven't been out to check yet).
Has anyone had experience with this sort of thing? How can I find out what the longest boat that spot was meant for? How can this length be enforced?
My mooring had a 40 footer on it it with X amount of space. My boat is 28 foot and the space has been reduced.
Further down the Creek my mate Rod has a 36 foot Cavalier and recently alongside him has been put a 41 footer.
He knows for a fact that they touch sterns, but nobody seems to worry about it including Rod, 'they only touch lightly'
he says. So I dunno Jethrow...........
Don't know about size limits for commercial moorings, but two days ago near my mooring I did see two sailboats gently caressing each others bums, tide and wind differing and one not strong enough to overcome the other, such a moving sight
I think the Manitou saw off the admirer though.
Mmmm last time I chat to you across the water , I would have expected nothing less than you to throw yourself between my boat and the intruder into my mooring space
. Please don't tell me it's the one with the seagull family ,flying is an effort but to just walk on board.( note to self ,put more cat food on neighbors yacht to keep seagulls happy where they are )
see you on the weekend if your out there.

Hey, it was not the seagull boarding house but the smaller somewhat unkempt sail boat beside you, and you just know that I would have thrown myself between the two had it been anything more than a gentle caress.![]()
Was out there on saturday morning and possibly will be on sunday as well.
Cheers
