I bought a framed bimini before Xmas but didnt like it so i flicked it off and went to spotlight and bought some canvas. I put eyelits on the canvas straight away and just lashed it but it wasnt ideal. Recently i had the idea to use flexible tent poles so i sewed some loops for the tent poles to go thorugh. Its very strong and packs up and down in a few minutes. It can also be used sailing no problem and unlike the framed bimini it doesnt hinder my sheet to tiller set up. Its still not perfected yet, but you get the idea!
THe panel is working a treat. just installed some electrical conduit and the new panel thats is identical will sit just behind this one. It is charging the house batteries very well.

Great cheap idea, in the Australian tradition of making do with what you've got on hand. cheers
