I am doing a de-clutter and have a classic book by Eric Hiscock called "Voyaging under Sail" available. Written back in the 60's and '70s before cruising the World became common, it is an interesting look at all the aspects of long distance cruising, including yacht design, rigging, etc., and seamanship, as at that time.
Drop me a pm if you want it.

HG, what about "My favourite Tales of The Sea" by Sir Alec Rose, or "Barrier Reef Rendezvous" by Alan Lucas?

For those that missed out

If you do a search on that ebay you will find plenty of Hiscock's books avaliable.
Even signed first print from time to time.

Most are not expensive

I've got it and read it, I found the language and the tone very old fashioned but the content could not be faulted.

Near the end of the book Eric said that Doctors Lawyers and Engineers could work in different ports to fund their trip, perhaps back then only those professions could afford to sail, I'm just an old retired baggy assed electrician, what am I doing with a boat??

I think it would be a nice gesture if Cisco typed it up onto electronic media and presented it for all of us to download !

What thinks y'all ?

Nah, Cisco should become the forum librarian, the keeper of all the knowledge. Any spare books or manuals, send them them all to Cisco's place.
