Did I see some LED light that activates automatically when you open the fridge door or did I dream of such a device?

My engles does that Im not sure of the mechanism maybe a magnetic switch of a simple mercury switch off a you could install a car door switch
Or just drink another slab South Ace

AAA are 1.5 volt

I'm sure you can step down with a transformer from 12 to 1.5 Mr HO2

Not with DC you caint, but you can use a potentiometer.

a small solar cell and rechargeable batteries
Or buy one of those hats with the Led light on them

the easiest would be don't open the fridge at night and with the money you save buy another beer

I see you have a solar vent fan on deck perhaps you could run it off that panel

Yes comprende I will see how long the battery's last but I can assure you my fridge gets used a lot lately!
