I need a new 10cm section of exhaust hose connecting the exhaust elbow to the muffler. I have some spare fuel hose and wondered if it can be used for exhaust. Motor is a Bukh DV10-LSME.

Hii Keensailor

I googled the specs on yours http://batind.com.au/Products/4%20Industrial%20Hose/Petroleum.html and the specs on wet exhaust hose www.brierleyhose.com.au/rubberHose.php#makomarineexhaust and one of the obvious differences is the maximum temp for yours is a fair bit less than the wet exhaust hose and if it was me i would get the correct stuff because if it fails you have both exhaust fumes and exhaust water getting pumped into the boat

I guess if you wanted to know for sure you could contact the manufacturer and see if they think it is suitable

Regards Don

If this hose fails you could lose your life or the boat or both. For $50-100 get the correct hose.
