Hi all,
I'm shocked to discover the way my version of iNavX with Navionics charts works on my iPad.
Try this:
1) Make sure iNavX is not currently running - if so, shut it down.
2) In Settings, turn off WiFi and set Aeroplane mode ON. In other words, make sure internet access is unavailable.
3) Start up iNavX - still got your Navionics charts?
I don't - because my iPad software version (5.04 build 1153) attempts to connect to X-Traverse.
Why it does this I'm not sure - check for legal ownership, check for upgrades, who knows?
Here's the kicker though - if it can't connect to X-Traverse, you won't have access to YOUR charts!!!
WTF?????
So....you're out in the briny miles from anywhere (at least you don't have any mobile reception) You start up your iNavX and.....s**t where's my charts????
Try the above steps and let's know what results you get.
regards to all
Allan
Note that this issue only applies to specific iNavX software versions.
My iPad version is 5.04, and this is the version on which I discovered the issue.
My iPhone, with iNavX version 4.7.0 does NOT have this issue.
I strongly recommend users, if their iNavX version doesn't have this issue, DON'T upgrade their software until this situation is resolved.
There appears to be no facility to roll back software versions, so once you upgrade it your stuck with it - warts and all.

Allan
My navionics works when my samsung s5 is on airplane mode.
Thanks Sectorsteve,
What version of iNavX do you have?

Allan
