Hi all, new here and hoping someone can lend some advice.

Pulled the mast down today to repaint, and it broke away at the base as soon as the stays were loosened. Upon inspection the mast step had corroded so badly, it just disintigrated.

I have a Cole 19 built by Northshore Yachts (so I have been informed). Does anyone know how/where I would get a new mast step to fit? Do I have to build my own? Get someone to fabricate a new or a new base system? Or can I get an original/aftermarket step to suit?

Trying not to spend more than what the boat cost me! ;)

Many thanks for you help in advance.

Greg.

So it was just the step that had corroded? ie not the base of the mast?

Have you tried your local chandlery? They should be able to sort you out. Otherwise call Northshore and find out who supplied the rigging?

Presumably while you're painting the mast, you'll strip all the fittings and check them for corrosion too?
