Just wondering how waterproof you can expect your covers to be.

In the last few days here in Perth the weather has been horrid. Is the canvas likely to reach saturation point and no longer keep you dry..

(Adding to post as I had to duck off)

It is obvious in mine at least, that there is some leaking through the zips and stitch holes. There is also some dripping through though canvas/material (for whatever it is actually called), but I had always thought this was just condensation. The amount of water that has been pooling up though after the last few days is more than I would've expected from the above mention leaking points.

I just thought maybe I am simply asking too much from my covers after 3 or 4 days of constant heavy rain (and driving so maybe having more ability then usual to actually drive in through the material and stitching)..

You could try Starbright Waterproofing and Fabric Treatment and I also threaded a few double braided lines that go over the boom to keep the covers taut and help prevent sagging in which water can pool.
