2 x 9 hour days and I'm not finished.
Shoulders, neck and arms hurt.
Have bruising on both biceps and the soles of my feet are tender from standing on a ladder.
Why, why? maintenance.
Got boat slipped to do anti-foul. Okay bottom looks good I'll let the yard tidy it up and spray some Micron 66.
Oh well while its out let's replace those leaking windows.
6 windows x 2 hours per window to remove and get all that black **** (sealant) off.
I tried every chemical known to man. It made me dizzy, it made my nose and throat burn, it made made me feel sick but did it shift the sealant - nope!
I scraped and scraped and then scraped some more. Thankfully one of the guys in the yard gave me some shaped perspex scrapers which really worked.
Well its all off and do i feel better - not yet.
I watched the fleet sail away yesterday morning and watched them return today and I was still scraping.
Also did some minor maintenance on the cast iron keel by cutting out, priming and sealing some rusty bits.
Sanded back the rudder for a hard coat treatment in white in an effort to reduce buildup.
Stripped back the prop and shaft ready for some treatment and will most likely have to remove the shaft to get the cutlass bearing replaced. I'll see what the mechanic says.
meant to cut and polish but after a couple of hundred dollars on the compounds, pads etc I can't find the lock nut for the polisher - buggerit!
So next time I sail I know that I've earnt it.

Boat ownership is a total package possibly in this ratio 40% use/pleasure 40% no action and 20% maintenance possibly more but there is satisfaction in most of it untill the bills come in.
I have had boats for ever and could not be without one.
You forgot $1500 poorer for the Micron 66. Very good gear
