Thumbs Up

Howdy, we're Sydneysiders living abroad, going back home a few times a year.

We're toying with the idea of making coming stays longer, like 3-6-12 months. Also thinking of buying a sailboat.
I haven't been in a club in about 25 years in Sydney (have been owning and sailing in the US mostly since).

Question is: I'd like to know of fora on, or links to, info on sailing clubs and boating in Sydney.
What is the main market for buying (used) for 27-32 footers, the best classifieds. What are the waiting periods these days in Sydney, either docks or mooring balls, for clubs that aren't too fancy? What are the fees (joining and annual), are there coop clubs anymore?

For any of B-Bay (perhaps my first choice), Port Jackson or Pittwater. Brisbane Water or Hawkesbury a bit too far but might consider if it makes a diff.

What are the clubs that allow sleeping at the docks versus not? Do clubs require local residency, or do they favour local residents?

Thanks in advance folks,
PC.
