Hi all

My girlfriend and myself fly to Florida in a couple of weeks with the plan to search for a boat to sail through the Caribbean for a year. We are currently looking for travel insurance and are having trouble finding a product that includes everything we will need i.e. covers offshore and is offered to Australian nationals. Any suggestions on companies that I should look into?

Cheers

I use the Post Office travel insurance. They do a full 12 months cover.

Yearly policies are good but they usually have limitations. They cover up to a maximum duration of 50 days per trip, and they do not cover for activities such as sailing offshore. This may not be the case for the Post Office insurance but it certainly is the case for Suresave. As a travel agent I have tried to find cover recently for a client sailing from Darwin to Ambon and on to Singapore and did not have any luck at all I am afraid.
