We have the standard Jabsco electric toilet. I bought the service kit and replaced the intake impeller, joker valve etc.
On flush, the bowl empties readily but then fills to about 1/4 with clean water when button released.
I have only previously had the manual pump model where you could pump out until the bowl was empty.
Is it normal for the bowl to be 1/4 full with the electric model? There is only one motor which is a combo pump and macerator.

I adjusted mine with the sea cock reducing the amount of waterflow.
our electric toilet always has about a quarter of a bowl of water
and all the other ones I have fitted are the same .must be normal

I have a different model electric toilet which is always a third full. All the ones I have used including Jabsco are the same.

Yeah I would agree with it being normal. I put a new Jabsco pump in my tub last year. The only thing I wish I did at the same time was to replace all the associated plumbing. Imagine, nice new powerful pump with old crusty brittle pipes. The pipes didn't last long and you all only know full well what runs through them.
I have one and found that the water fulling the bowl is from the discharge hose.
If you leave the seacock open and your boat rocks it will siphon water on board.
This has happened to me, luckily I have about 3cm of freeboard in the bowl!
Always turn the seacocks [that's both of them] off when not in use.
To clean use the vinegar treatment at least once a year.

Check to see the hieght of your syphon breaker is , it might just be your U-tube hieght. Lower your syphon breaker to the minimum required and flush again.dsee if the water hieght in the bowl changes.

I haven't installed a syphon breaker.
As I am a solo sailor the sea cocks are ONLY turn on when I'm using the throne!
That way I always know they are off when not in use.
