A brilliant day. Sun shining, 10-15 kts of breeze, slight seas, new sails and the boat reaching along at up to 7.2kts in beautiful balance. It can't get much better.

Oh, I don't know??

Just come back from a long week-end a couple of hours ago.

Sailed across Storm Bay to Taranna from Kettering (Tas)on Thursday, 13-18kts on a close hauled set up, new sails (From FES) 7.5kts.

Came back today, lovelly 15-18kts across Storm Bay from Betsy Island to the Iron Pot, almost smooth seas, free sheets and a top of 8.25kts SOG 9.35 on log.

It seems the both of us are benefitting from a good sail maker and a good weather maker.

Cheers and may more fair winds come our way!

Dusty

Mate, it might not get much better but a better day is always just around the corner. Some days on a yacht are magic.

Glorious day yesterday, I went fishing. Left mooring and had the tide behind me, pleasant NE at the entrance and sailed close hauled out to the banks. Set up wind vane and never touched it. Caught a feed and sailed home, close reach with vane adjusted once. Tide now helping me up the river. Whales everywhere, probably half a dozen half a mile off and all the way to the banks. Wished I had a book. Drank too much coffee and ate too much.

I chuckle when I realise I go fishing in the same places I used to work and with a reasonable breeze of about 12 knots over the deck I travel at the same speed I used to do in my fishing vessel.

Words of wisdom those!
Haven't done much sailing since moving aboard a couple months ago, but I love my new life aboard my cat.
I spent the weekend away at a non-sailing related conference and, although had a blast, felt so relieved to be home on Sunday evening....purrrrr
No more guilt about when the next time will be to get down to the boat.
