I worked in a marina 20 or so years ago and it was all we ever used. Mainly power boats, some very large, say 45ft plus.
Water blast and scrape the hulls, apply anti foul with a roller.
Then get the blow torch out and "sweat" the props and shafts, and apply a couple of Coates of spray on lanolin.
Amazing when you sweat the props and shafts of a seemingly dry boat, out of the water for a few hours. Working the blow torch over the props and the water just seems to start dripping out of the bronze or stainless.
Seemed to work ok
i have seen it used on props ......but thats interesting about the use on hulls ....
We only used it on props & shafts.
Legs got coated in special Aluminium anti foul, and the hull for about 1 m or so square patch around the legs.
Not on the hulls!

yes i understood your original comments .........the product in donks link claims use on hulls as well .........
A cost benefit analysis would, I think come out in the negative. Unless of course they were giving it away, then you may break even. I'm afraid I don't see any benefit in using this product. It appears to be a product in search of a customer.
What are you saying LC, that it's the answer to a problem that hasn't arisen yet and they are looking for a problem for to solve??.

Would it not just be a alternative to conventional anti fouling paint

Perhaps it is, but what is the advantage
Is it cheaper to buy, easier to apply, will it stop greeblies from growing where ordinary antifoul fails?
I'm not saying the product doesn't work, but what is the incentive for me to use it in preference to proven product?
My mate with the Elliott bought some to put on top of the hard antifoul he has done his hull with so we have decided to get a bit of painted timber and leave a third of it bare, put antifoul on a third and put the lanolin (I call it snake oil) on the last third and hang it from the jetty in the dinghy shed across the road and keep a check on it over a period of time and see what sort of growth we get on each section
It will be interesting to see the results
