I just went to row out to my boat as I haven't been out for a couple of weeks. First, someone had cut the bowline off my dinghy while it was in it's storage rack. I know it was cut as they left about a foot still attached to the bow ring and it was a clean cut, not chafe.

Then I thought I'd keep rowing out and at least do a lap to make sure all was ship shape and I find 6 dead fish & a bag of bread in the cockpit. The fish had their necks cut so it was definitly people and they obviously thought it would be a good fishing place but couldn't be bothered taking their crap with them when they left.

Freakin' lowlife's

that is ****. sorta strange that they cut the bowline off your dinghy and got to your boat. did they cut the bowline for some rope to use or to free the dinghy to use that? sounds like they wanted some rope for something. low lifes and most humans in general never leave anything how they find it so they wouldnt have put the dinghy back if they borrowed it.

Nah, SectorSteve

Two different and unconnected incidents. The dinghy was locked up in it's council rack so it's just someone who needed a bit or rope.

The fishing of my boat really pisses me off. I don't get out to it often as I race other peoples boats, but I've spent a bunch of money on mine recently to re-build the cockpit to make it more comfortable for cruising and to find dead rotted fish on the floor made me pretty mad.

The fact that they probably wouldn't have used the boat with the old trampolines just rubs salt into the wound.

Jethrow, I'm going up to MB tomorrow. What is your boat's name and description?

MB, I change my avatar to show the boat. I'm the same distance again from the public wharf from your boat. She's all good now but if you see any fishermen on board, give them a punch in the face from me. :D

I drove past and couldn't se any sign of their return. I suppose they picked your boat because it has good access for the fishing lines over the stern. There were lots of boats out fishing this morning, especially on the western side of Scotland Island near the work barges.

I thought that guy sneaking around RPAYC just before the Wednesday race in a Bentley coup was looking suspicious...

If you're there MB. I was motoring around Scotland Island yesterday and saw a cruiser had gone down (just the antennas sticking out of the water).
It's on the moorings on the South side of the Island opposite the North cardinal mark. Is this anywhere near you MB, do you know
if it was the bad weather that sank it, or was it sabotaged.????????

Didn't see it sam. Jethrow and I are over to the east of there in Salt Pan Cove, the bay north of RMYC with the port hand marker on the end of the sand spit.

I had dramas like that with low life's at McCarrs Creek.

Originally I designed an SMS bilge pump alarm for my boat because my bilge pumps keep failing (I thought) and the boat flooded a few times. I discovered later it was because the electronic sensor on the pumps got slime on, then then when wet the slime would stay wet and the pump would stay on and on and flatten the batteries. Very annoying replacing everything under the floor each time so I designed an SMS bilge pump alarm.

One day I came to my boat and the cockpit was full of squid ink stains, squid bits, beer bottles (none full!) and rubbish.

That was even more annoying so I added a "burglar catcher" input to the SMS bilge pump alarm with great success ,even catching some of them by putting an invisible trip wire across the cockpit :-) I was able to sprint to the boat and shine flood light on it from the shore and the low life's scattered everywhere!

Later the invention became this www.trektransponder.com.au. Anyone who wants one can have one half price on this forum if they don't mind a beta version.

Such a shame to hear. Ive been working up there for years providing marketing services to real estate agents and home sellers. Combination of real-estate agents and neurotic sellers from that area have lead me to dump all the clients from around there. Sailing up there is awesome though, but seems almost risky to have the boat there away from the maritime cops at church point

Hey, at least you only had to do some cleaning, I discovered last week some lowlife had broken in and stolen my near new 40 litre fridge/freezer,2 pairs of binoculars and most of my hand tools so now out to replace everything missing.
Not happy Jan !!

You need one of my low life busters Bob. There's 3 installed on boats in the Georges River.

If anyone would like to see it work I will be working on boat Sunday in Elvina Bay, replacing starter motor on old Volvo MD 2003, don't know where to start so to speak. Except I have the new one at least. If anyone's done one before I'd be glad of hints.

Bring beer.
