Beers good up there and a nice spot to sail never raced there except Wednesday afternoons

A mate took his S1-11 up last year and had a ball. Hospitality at the Nelly Bay Marina was excellent.
my boat was the first ever starter boat in this event worth the trip great place good sailing great island ,don,t come if you don,t drink

We've just got back to civilisation , and spent the night being indulgent little piggies on cabbage and betroot soups, deer loin, the works best dumplings, and ridiculous quantities of potato and vodka with honey, and I can honestly say that link weirded me out no end. You should have a health warning attached to that link .

Magnetic follows the Hamilton Is race week.

You would do well in the light airs they get up there that time of year.
Accomodation options for crew are more reasonably priced on Magnetic, I booked a room in a house ajacent the marina on AirBnB for $55 a night.
I also saw a 2 bedroom unit for $100 a night.
Combined with $125 flights to Townsville it's cheap holiday with 4 days of sailing & 5 nights of entertainment included.

Do you know Dave who skippers The Matrix (RQ member) have a chat to him if you want more info from a sailing perspective as he sailed MI 2 years ago.
