Hi,

I've been thinking of adding a couple of cleats to my mast but I'm not sure about drilling into the mast, I've heard there are channel in the mast.
I was thinking of revamping the Lazy jack halyards using two cleats rather than just one. The mast is a selden,
Has anyone done this before?

The halyard for my lazyjacks system lead back to the cockpit like everything else. When I'm sailing I let them off. When I drop the main I haul the topping lift and the lazyjacks, round up a bit and let the main halyard go, sails drops into the stackpack/sail cover[full length battens]. Then I get out of the cockpit and tidy up.

If you want to drill into the mast, drill and tap a thread into the alloy. Use threads that are as short as possible. Add the protective coating etc.

Give Peter Gardner at Sydney Rigging a buzz. He is very helpful and a Selden distributor.
