Hi all, My name is Mark and i am finally getting close to my dream I am looking at purchasing a Mystere25 or Mystere750 Looks like the same yacht. I am unable to source any information about them only that it was designed by John Alsop Maybe a spinoff of the Triton 24 ? Any information regarding this craft would be greatly appreciated Major use would a bit of coastal cruising picnic sailing whale watching with partner and two grommets
John Alsop was an airline pilot and he designed the Triton 24. The Mystere is basically the same hull with a clipper bow and raised stern for more interior room. The rudder shifted to the transom. I think The Mystere was meant to be a bit more upmarket than the Triton which continued for awhile. I personally think for the same money you could do better with a larger boat. I would also try and avoid any boat with an Yanmar YSE8! Some people like them but you will be budgeting to change it sooner or later.

Thanks Ramona, I live on the Far South Coast of NSW Looking at either a swing mooring in Eden or a small berth at Bermagui I'm about half way between both. Any other suggestions would be appreciated on a suitable vessel i need something that can be handled single handed There will be no racing just cruising these days 15k is about my limit cheers
Keep an eye out for yachts at Batemans Bay. I would suggest concentrating on yachts 26 to 30 feet. You really need standing headroom and an inboard diesel.

I have a Mystere 25 which I bought 3 years ago. So far very happy with it. Sails well and easy solo. Only real complaint is the double bed is on the small size.
