Well I've done it Finally purchased a yacht after two years of looking, being gazumpted three time looked at just about every model from Sydney to Lake Macquarie.
Its a 1991 Northshore 38 named Charm, currently tied up at princes st Marina Newport but will be going to her new mooring at Balmain Marina on Saturday morning.

I carry 60 mtrs I geuss it depends what you plan to do with your yacht.. On the rare occasion when cruising I have had to anchor in 20mtrs of water and obvosily that's just 3:1 scope. I have deployed 60 mtrs in 5 mtrs water in 45knts and only just dragged....

I would think maybe they like to keep the bow light in the NS hence the short anchor chain.

Anyway congratulations looks like a nice boat and the spray dogger will be a blessing!

Howdy Neighbour,

She looks like a really nice yacht. Our NS370 is just over the road at Birkenhead. There's a few NS's around the immediate area with another NS370 recently moving down from Pittwater.

No doubt see you out and about.

A very very nice looking boat and good buying at the advertised price let alone any discount. BZ (Well done in Navy speak)
I'd like to be a fly on the wall the first time the sea breeze sneaks up on you and your hit with a 20-25kt gust with all the canvas spread. I'm sure the boat can handle it but it is going to make good theatre.
I'll see you on Friday to have a look at her and get out for a sail on Morning Bird.

Well done. Great buy at that price. Prices of boats have dropped significantly over the last year or so.

keithw...Charm is a Pearl , congratulations
but now you don't get away so easily, WE wont to see personal touch "personality"
we give you time, but don't forget a pic. before and after.
I give you example, this is after.

by the way MB...you keen to see all the canvas out and feel the sheer power ?

Had a look at Charm today prior to Keith and I going for a sail on MB.
Charm is an outstanding buy, a seriously good boat for the money. I am quite envious of what you can get for that much, but Keith did bargain well and smartly to get it for the price he paid.
Took MB for a run to air the sails. Hit 7.4kts and spent a fair bit of time over 7kts.
Good day all round.
