Anybody out there could help please.
I am in dire need of a replacement as my original one is dying.
Would love to keep this system but the lcd is disintegrating.
If you got one or you know someone who got one in the cupboards l would love to buy it of you.

I have the same. I even took the cover off the other day, first time in months. The LCD is gradually failing in mine too. I think there is a company that took over Navman and make compatable parts. Maybe a search on the PBO forums will help, it was discussed there awhile back. Personally I think it would be better to budget for a replacement system.

Wet finger.
I found it was useful crossing our bar in a fresh NE. I could just avert my eyes and keep a check that I did not have an accidental gybe.

That would be Northstar.... I had to replace a Navman VHF and wanted exact dimensions to fit into an existing hole. I had a nightmare of a time until I learnt Northstar took Navman over and I found an identical radio rebadged..
I have just repaired my Navman 3100 multi which had lots of dead pixels. Not sure if this is your problem, or if the screen is faded.
Anyway, I found the elastomeric connectors, and I have some spares that I can get to you if you want to replace the ribbon cable (see the youtubeclip 'Repairing Navman 3100 sailing instrument Display').
Cost me AU$10 ea for the connectors...
Thanks timbo but l am electronically incompetent. I would not dare to touch it with a sixty foot barge pole.
I need someone to do it for me or l have to replace it. I know my limitations.
Thanks for the offer!
