Just a bit of a heads up, I have placed an ad on Seabreeze on behalf of our local yacht club advertising the sale of our workboat.
The boat itself is pretty average, but it has a 20HP Bukh 2 Cylinder that has been reconditioned.
Asking price is $1,500.00

That's an exceptional buy. The boat might look a bit average but would tidy up well. Any idea who built the hull? I have been trying to remember the builder of small ferro yachts from melbourne who built the 24 foot ferro yachts in a female mould. There was one on eBay a few weeks ago.

I don't know if this was his sort of thing,the workboat Grumpy was largely before my time, but there would be club members who know more history of the boat than I do. We had one of his versions of H28 ketch, which is still was my alltime favourite boat.
The workboat is a bit of a shame to cut up, and would be a good 'putt putt' for someone who wanted a project.

That 100 years from ferro ...is that 50 years as a fish
shelter on the bottom included, or extra on top of it.
Doesn't really matter what a hull is built from as long as it is well designed and built correctly.

Plenty of ferro yachts that people don't realise they are ferro. I have had to tap the sides on yachts on the slips to check. Talking to owners of yachts locally and they are often surprised that their neighbouring yacht is ferro. Fibreglass yachts built in the 1940's are still going but work boats in ferro from the late 1800's are too.
Why are they easy to repair. Everything I have been told once the reinforcing gets corroding it it very difficult to permanently fix it. Patch yes but fix no.

Off topic :-) But Dean you know much about Kan Walker? I ask as I bought a Saga its a GRP and im told only 3 made before the factory burned in Geelong in the early 81-83?

I did not know Kahn personally, but understand he was pretty well known locally. He had some pretty unique designs and materials used.
I;m sure there are plenty of experts in our club who would know more about him and the Saga, I'm happy to try and find out anything specific you may be after.
Also, I am catching up with another local designer of the same era, designer of the Gilcraft range of boats, which included versions of the Queenscliff Couta boat which you may be familiar with. He will definately have known Kahn.
Oh yeah, anyone want that diesel. :)
Can't believe you have not sold that boat yet! Just had a look at the photos again. It has a universal joint aft of the gearbox, is that green bit an aqua drive unit?
Its hard to work out boat buyers. Local ex fishing boat went to Victoria last week from here on a truck. Surely there must be fishing boats for sale in Victoria!

Good advice on the ebay though. I was being a slack, and maybe a bit of wishful thinking.
I had good fast results on Seabreeze buy and sell though, selling my tri pretty quickly.
