Hi All

What do you paint your mooring rego numbers on the buoy with? I've tried the PVC stick on's, texta colour, oil based paints but none seem to last even a year. Some numbers on other buoys still look fresh many years later. What do they use?

I used an automotive enamel in a 'nail polish' type bottle, that came free with a car. Otherwise, about $10 from Supercheap in the color of your choice.

Killrust metal paint seems to work. Just let it dry properly before using. It does not matter what you use, you will have to touch it up every year or two. The rules vary a bit but locally we have to have our buoys visible on the bow. Mine hangs off the bowsprit and does not touch anything. The MSB used to lift the marker buoys on cranes. Paint the buoys in a water based paint and drop them straight back in.
