Certain death or destruction ! This has gotta go ( nasty yellow dot
)
Midway through a jump toaday I looked down & noticed something in the water. Went back for a closer look & FFFFaaaaRRRkkkk It was a jagged marker pole of some sort maybe 30cm accross that was only exposed in between waves.
It wasnt drifting either as i gave it a kick... it looked as if something had crashed into it, which would explain why it was just below the water line. I can see an accident waiting to happen - someone being ripped to shreds if they hit it / land on it or ripping the hull out of a yacht / pleasure craft.
I saw it at about 6:30pm which would make it a Fremantle tide height of .63 metres, a slightly higher tide & youd never no its there till you hit it ![]()
Does anyone know who to report this to
& has anyone else seen it ![]()
Cheers
Something must be reported immediately, if not already done so.
I'd get on to the Department of Planning and Infrastructure to warn of the hazzard to boating.
This was once a mark used by many yacht clubs.
We started a race the other week, only to not be able to find the bottom mark beacuse it had had the top broken off by something.
I have been informed that this mark has now sunk to the bottom.
For any sailors out there, it was 42B
I hope you have reported this incident to your local Water Police authority and or to a Volunteer Marine Rescue or then again to Harbours and Marine. To me this post could be considered a legal nightmare for you if this action has not been reported already.
You might consider taking ACTION and alerting the necessary authorities instead of placing a post like this. Common sense suggests when anyone notices a potential danger to craft and life then you take immediate measures to report these situations, whether you are sky diving or you had used this mark when sailing.
Very poor show on eveyone's part who knew about this and did nothing.
Understand what you are saying Pelican, but maybe you should ask before pointing the finger.
This has been reported to the Swan River Authority, The Yacht club that is responsible for that mark and the Water Police.
To my knowledge the mark in question was removed the next day.
Yeh! right! Tornado. If that's the case then why didn't U mention it in the first place. What a load of bollocks.
I really have to laugh when someone gets all agressive on forums.
The fact that this issue had been raised with the authorities did not seem to be important when I made my last post. Being relatively new to this forum, I did not realise my posts were being judged by somebody that lives on the other side of Australia.
Please get off your high horse and concentrate on your own issues.
