Apart from being great to sail on, seawater is a great way to stretch your supply of freshwater. For example, a 30-second dip in boiling seawater is the perfect way to tenderize squid.

Here are 10 ways you can put seawater to use:
blog.arribasail.com/2016/11/putting-seawater-to-use-on-your-boat.html

BTW, you don't need to have seawater plumbed to your galley sink, but you'll more than likely discover, as I did, that you'll use seawater for all those tasks much more often if you do.

I've deck wash pump plumb to sea water it will also have a outlet art in the cockpit aswell as the bow
And I'll try plumbing some thing to the sink
Years ago on an isolated beach ran out of food except for rice and what ever the ocean provided
Salt water rice is a little be hard to consume but added to even cooking shell fish it was okay
And I was able to stay there for a couple more weeks
Which was great

Due to a few head injuries at a kid my ability with English expression is not good
One of my sons writes really well and writes Government papers full time
A Uni in Sydney published one of his technical articles
Well written as usual but way above my comprehension
I'm afraid
when he travelled overseas he wrote a blog thoroughly enjoyable reading

Slight tempory thread drift. Sorry.
I'm feeling you man. As a two old I was in a coma for a week.
As a nine year old three months off school compound skull fracture.
How I got into and survived three years army is a miracle. I have major comprehension problems often.
You ain't alone with it Mate.
Sorry people, sometimes it is really important. I Needed to tell him.
Won't happen again.

When I was around 4 years old I had this realization that I'm alive but will die at some stage .
So some times some one will ask me what am I doing I respond with just waiting till I die

I've been waiting for 48 years now, starting to think it just might not happen after all the accident and incidences I've put myself through in my life it would be a shame to die in bed at 100 years old.

For years I thought that I simply had a strange brain.
But the newer studies have given me cause to know otherwise.
But I still like the idea of a mizzen on your boat.......promise to never bring it up again.

Good point. I should have included desk and anchor washing.

In addition to a manual pump in the galley, I have a electric seawater pump with 2 taps. One is in the anchor locker (under foredeck) and the other in the cockpit. The former is invaluable for washing crud off the anchor and rode and the latter for deck washing, especially cleaning up fish blood and guts!

Well you give me a never ending supply of power . One day the mizzen will go back on but not in the next few years . Retirement is looming and Id really like to get this boat back into the water and raise a sail and sort it out so it's user friendly.
Looks like another weekend with rain coming up. Damit .
I never not finish a job and walk away much the same when I use to race years ago "always finished a race no matter what "
The boats roughed out now just needs refining and finishing. Lots of temp wiring as things have been added but that's only a bit of time some timber work inside yet to be done internally .

Haydn, thanks for the "supply of power" statement. Makes me feel useful.
I'm going to try to get to Western Port before you leave.
Really want to meet up.
Chew the fat, talk a bit of nonsense, buy some grub, have a shower, maybe go on the hard stand & do the bottom.
Do you know Jim Thom, built a green Roberts 345 in steel, I think in same place as your Herreshoff?
Met him in Gosford. Helped him get out of Brisbane water.
Maybe Western is a bigger place than I think it is.
Sorry about the waffle.
Gotta love waffles with Maple Syrup and ice cream !!
