Does anyone know what race was on today on lake mack? A mix of all sorts of boats.
There were around 100 sailing near LMYC/coal point.
We set out from valentine, headed into warners bay then started tacking down the lake. All this time the yachts stayed down near LMYC.
My 13 year old son and I were tacking down towards the fleet intending on turning back once we got closer to the race area. However they started to sail towards Toronto under spinaker.
Found myself on the wrong sice of the racing yachts.
My son started to worry we would get in the way. We were literally boxed in. To my amazement, I watched the boats, saw a big gap between them and then timed it perfectly so we were able to set the boat on a deam reach and sail through the the gap without annoying any of the racing boats.
This was only our 6th time out.
Very proud of our achievement. But hace to abmit it was more ass than class!
Nothing but friendly waves from the crews on the other boats.
And my son was quite impressed ?
That was probably Lake Macquarie yacht club.
Incidentally the Endeavour national titles are on this weekend at Dramoyne

Thanks
Too many boats for just one club.
Would love to be able to see the Endeavors racing.
Think there are another 2races tomorrow you have a good view from Dramoyne sailing club.
Yes. But i gave my wife a birthday card with an IOU for 3 days toil in the garden. Tomorrow is one of those days??
It was an R.K.Robinson race. 3 combined clubs, LMYC, Toronto, Wangi. Each club hosts 2races per season. Great turnout today, great day for a sail!
