This is a good news story about supplier service, which is a pleasure to receive.
I had noticed that furling of my jib seemed to be getting harder with the sail not furling evenly. I removed the sail and had a look at the furler bearings. The halyard swivel bearing was failing, with excessive clearance and the balls bunched up. I contacted the manufacturer to request pricing for new parts. Answer was that the furler was manufactured in 2007, still new really, so just send back for free repair or replacement.
Now that is standing by your product.
After a second long phone call we worked out that thrust adjustment was loose and fixed the thing in about 10 minutes. If ever needed I would buy another one in a flash.
Now that's a mighty fine endorsement. Only problem is we don't know who this fine product and supplier is or are you keeping this to avoid the rush. Names and details please?
Have fun,
The brand is Reefit. I think made in Tasmania.
Google "Reefit furler" will get you there.
I'm looking to fit a Furler on my Walker H28 some time after winter seems your happy with yours interesting

LMY Just wondered if you knew the bearing number that was on that furler sort of interested as I used to own and operate a bearing shop
The bearing are a special, and integral to the halyard slide.
The bearing races look like machined aluminium and the balls look to be either a polymer or polymer coating over steel.
I have done zero maintenance over the four years I have had the boat, but the manual recommends a regular water wash only.

They sound similar to Sheedy bearings
