My boat is on the hardstand at the gold coast, I need a rigger to go up the mast to install a new VHF antenna.
I would do it myself but I am currently not in Queensland. The antenna supplier said his insurance requires a qualified rigger to go aloft.
My question is can anyone recommend a rigger who can carry out this type of work in the Gold coast .
I did not think anyone is allowed up the mast on the hardstand .

Good point, I will need to do some home work.
I may need to do it after I relaunch
You will need to get a crane with a bucket if on the hardstand, no need for a rigger then as anyone can fit the antenna
That is good thinking seabird.
A case of the simple solution staring us in the face and we don't see it. ![]()
Yes, I did consider the options with a crane or EWP but it gets real expensive.
I think you would still require a working at heights ticket to work from a man cage on a crane though.

The idea came from Allspars who are replacing my rigging next month when I go on the hard to antifoul. Apparently it's cheaper to use a crane at $220/hr then a cherrypicker who have a minimum 4hr charge.
Cisco,
Being out of the water you can't climb the mast so there's not many options. Also I'm replacing the rigging so its not safe to climb even if was still in the water.
Allspars tell me the problem with cherrypickers is they have a 4hr min charge, so paying for a higher price for a crane for 2hrs is cheaper.
