Something has to be said about sailing with a group of friends , from the comfort of being out at sea on a freezing cold black night with strong winds hurling you along and the reassurence of seeing another set of navigation lights not to far away, to the social side of meeting at the club or sharing a drink on board when pulled up for the night.
We have had Shaun flat stick making cuppas as we take up every bit of space he has on his little Tophat cant understand why he only has two cups and has to use his little plastic cordial cup so we all get a drink.
Many heads are better than one so we can all share ideas on best weather window might even be able to get Shaun, Dave, And Steve, out of the comforts of the marina and be off at 2am to head north.
What you say Bornfree, is all very true, but the true value is a metho... Kero stove, now that I have that and and autosteer, thanks to above friends, sailing is going to take on a whole new light
Oh i forgot to mention the embarrasment of sitting at the bar having a beer with a unnamed male who insists on drinking Roselle wine with his pinky in the air 
Sailing in a fleet certainly takes the edge of uncertainty out of single-handing, I highly recommend the experience to all sailors the comaradory is good fun also.
One thing we need to agree on i's what bloody time were leaving is it 0100 as I thought or 0200?

You are all making me wish I could have switched my work around! Sounds like you're all having a blast.
0100 was departure time, .... I moved out of the marina yesterday arvo and anchored....at 0100 I tried to pull up the anchor. ..it was fouled around a pipe that the dredge uses. .AARGH! !!after trying to grunt it up etc, I let out mote scope and steamed around trying to. Unsnag it, it finally worked but I was 20 mins behind the fleet. I thought I'd have to dive in 5m of water or discard it, but obviously need the anchor! The rest of my voyage was good, I caught up to Lexmark and the mottle 33 but we then all took different routes, I went round the outside all hazards like the buffalo girls and stood off the Yamba bar until I was happy with the tide
They got away from Yamba about 0830 this morning.... a bit late really.
At 1800 hours today they were 2-3 nm off shore of Ballina and working against a strong current with light winds.
I've suggested they move closer inshore in order to get out of the current and to be prepared for the light westerlies due to blown tonight.
By the time they turn the corner at Tweed they are anticipating light northerlies again.
HI Well the Fleet has split up, The top hat arrived to new owner, and Shaun is now home Misty Blue and another???? are still in Yamba. Sea breeze and my self are at Seaway, Sea breeze left to go north yesterday, but due to lack of water returned, depending !! the both of us will be heading north again on mondaymay be stay in Moreton Bay, some where ????????, any suggestions ??
