Howdy
Does anyone know what the short term time mooring time is in Freo Fishing boat harbour?
ie pull up outside Little Creatures or Joes Fish Shack.
6m power boat.
I cant find any info anywhere on it...
53 have read it...
Granted I'm in a stinkboat, but I've just spent all weekend flowcoating some very hard to reach areas and maybe the acetone fumes has fogged my brain but I need the info for next weekends Rotto swim.
please?
Ring the Port Authority for guidance and clarification. Not everyone on this forum resides in WA or even in Fremantle, so most people here are not in a position to comment.
I don't reside in fremantle either ;)
Port Authority doesn't cover Freo Fishing boat harbour.
Fremantle City Council doesn't cover it
DoT appears to have jurisdiction of the harbour and references berths and moorings - but only the normal long term ones.
Google maps streeview doesn't show it - found one sign but cant make out the letters.
If I remember correctly it's 4hrs maximum stay and no overnight mooring.
How much that is policed I don't know. I recon you would get away with as long as you want during the day. But if lights were out overnight I think it would be pretty obvious your sleeping.
I'm a support boat for the swim to.
I'll be sleeping in the river.
My guy (solo) is in the first wave so he has a 5.45 start!!!!
I've got to leave my spot by 4.30am!!!!!
The guy (swimmer feeder) coming on my boat meets me at 4am!!!!!!
I'll have to wake up at..........gonna be a long day
Thanks Maxbicyclemax
Coming up from Mandurah on Friday.
Yep, gonna be a looong day.
My solo is out in second wave.
The beers will be cold at the end though
Why you asking about mooring at Freo?
You want to stay the night before? Go there after?
It's pretty cool to hang out there.
What are the rules at your Ciccerellos in Mandurah? Mooring out front.
Night before.
Dinner, couple beers, go to sleep.
Not sure about Ciccerellos in Mdh, I think 4 hours as well.
Trying to see who actually enforces the 4 hours - and what the fine is if there is one??
You'll probably get away with it. You probably won't be the only one.
Just for your info 2-3nm up river is rocky bay, a popular place to drop a pick and stay.
Also further south is Woodmans point where there's some shelter.
Neither as much fun as Freo though
FYI - Didn't see any signs for duration of parking.
There was No Overnight Mooring signs along all the available jetties.
Still no idea of who is responsible for policing it?
