I'm not a Queenslander so could well be wrong but... isn't Dec-Jan the start of cyclone season? Not a good time to be island hopping in that area if so.
Okey, is this thrue, is it cyclone season? When is the best time to go sailing in QLD? Or is there any place in Australia that´s better fore sailing during this time of the year (jan-april)?
Thanks
-Johan
Yes it is the cyclone season (ie the time of year when cyclones MAY happen) but you do not have to worry about cyclones until there is one around.
We only had one this year in Queensland. There were a few off the West Australian coast. There are plenty of places to dodge a cyclone on the coast of Qld.
The best time to go sailing on the Queensland coast is when you are there
but the winter months between April and September inclusive are when the SE Trade winds are prevalent and reliable.
