was in the newsagent having a free read (as you do), looking at a amateur boat building mag came across an add for this mob ..... anagote.com/ ..... situated in Marrickville.
Have no idea what they have in stock or emmachisit, but yopu never know they may just have exactly what you are looking for (or not, as the case may be).
I used to play around with cabinet making as a hobby when I was married Theres a recycle timber collector seller in Echuca at the old Ubco bearings buildings
The place is covered with timber from all over Australia 'including the old wharfs in Sydney.. He once showed me what he called his "Superannuation Shed"
I have never seen a larger slab of Huon pine in my life and never will again and Queensland cedar slabs stacks of them. I could easily retire with that lot on my little boat .Such a site Ill never forget
The retail shed some of it is sold for board room tables longs and I mean long
Not Sydney, but in Tassie Island Speciality Timbers http://www.islandspecialtytimbers.com.au/shops/ist/pages/special-species-timbers (part of Forestry Tasmania) supply timber for boat building
Regards Don
I've bought timber at Anagote - was recommended by a wood turner friend. Photos of boats on the office wall. Some staff have boats. I'll be going there again when I get to my rub rails.
I know a few people who make premium furniture in Sydney and beyond .Anagote gets mentioned a lot in conversation.
Trend Timbers up Windsor way are pretty good as well. I have purchased off them and their stock on display at the Woodworking show is always impressive.
What are you looking for specifically?
